Charles "Rick" Chapman Obituary
Charles Richard Chapman (Rick), 76, of Rock Hill SC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Rick was born in Rock Hill in August of 1947 to Millard and Betty Chapman. Rick grew up learning the value of hard work and the importance of serving the church from his parents. Rick proudly served in the Air Force in the Vietnam War. Most of his career was in construction where he owned Chapman Construction for many years. After his full retirement as a Correctional Officer from Moss Justice Center in York SC, Rick connected with fellow veterans and friends by serving with Rolling Thunder.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Betty (Sutton) Chapman and a daughter, Leslie Nicole Chapman.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, friend, and caregiver Kay O’Dell Horne Chapman and his daughters, Betty Susanne Chapman, Stephanie Lauren Chapman, and Allison Chapman Ashe (Trevor). Rick was a wonderful PopPop to his grandchildren, Joscelyn Wade Ashe and Weston Allen Ashe. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Wanda Chapman McLurkin and Pamela Chapman Duncan (Michael), and brother Millard Edward “Eddie” Chapman (Darlene), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rick’s additional loving family members include daughter, Lisa Robbins (Brian), and grandchildren Sydney Dowdy, Destiny Dowdy, and Logan Robbins.
Rick Chapman’s memorial service will be held at Mt. Gallant Church of God on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2pm with Pastor Mike Welch officiating.

Ricky always hD a smile and great since of humor. I remember him from RHHS also. We were always friends and I never heard him say anything that wasn'tGood. He had a big smile and a big heart. Rest now from your earthly worries, and may you ha e peace always.
