Obituary

James “Jim” Houston Barrett, Jr., 75, of York, SC passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Jim Barrett will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom McPhail officiating. The family will receive friends in church parlor following the memorial service.

Jim was born on January 24, 1948 in Rock Hill, SC. He was the son of the late James Houston Barrett, Sr. and Mary Mendenhall Barrett. He worked as a cabinet and furniture builder, a veteran of the US Marine Corp, having served during Vietnam, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of York, SC.

Jim is survived by his wife, Phyllis Slagle Barrett, daughters, Stephanie Barrett (Mike Cooper), Melissa Barrett, and sister, Suzanne B. Smith.
