WTS Classmates and Friends,
John Dargan Barron, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 after succumbing to liver cancer. Many of us have warm feelings for the bare foot boy in Mrs. Hoke’s third grade class at WTS, through the high school years, and are sorry that he has left us.
His older sister, Bebs Barron Chorak (WTS 1960) has asked me to forward his funeral arrangements, ahead of the obituary in the Herald on Wednesday. Per John’s wishes, he has been cremated, and graveside services will be held at 2:00 Thursday at Laurelwood Cemetery, 143 Laurel Street, Rock Hill, SC.
John’s younger sister, Lydia Barron Lochocki, has invited everyone to her house after the graveside services to “to tell John stories and celebrate his life”. Lydia, and her husband, Buzz, live at 411 Lakeside Drive, Rock Hill, in the Country Club area.
Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel is assisting the family.

Below is a message from John Baron’s sister, Bebs Chorak to all the classmates who turned out for John’s memorial service:
Would you please tell the class how much it meant to us.......to know they remember John and cared enough to come to his service. He would have been so happy. too. He loved his friends, but he just wasn't able to hold himself together enough to see them over the years. He had a tough life....but he is at rest now.

I was a fellow classmate of John"s and remember what a very likeable person he was. Sincere regards and prayers to his family. He certainly was a true Bearcat we all can be proud of.God"s grace is always sufficient when we need it. Thank God for John!

John and I have been friends since tenth grade, He was cute, goofy, loveable and funny. My whole family loved him.
I didn't see him after high school for a long time, but when I did, I was thrilled to see him all grown up.He had grown into a large handsome man. We had agreat time catching up.
Didn't see him again for a long while, but by then, he wasn't doing well. It broke my heart to see him that way.
I will always have a special place in my heart for him.
