Cathy (McCallum) Morrison & I were able to attend the Celebration of Life service for classmate Bud Ivey last week. It was a touching service in the elegant sanctuary of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill where Bud had sung in the choir for many years. He was a Vietnam era Navy veteran and was always so honored to have played baseball for the SC Gamecocks under Yankees Hall of Famer Coach Bobby Richardson. Listening to the words shared, it was clear that Bud was a man of strong faith who loved well to the end, especially his wife Mary and their large extended family.

Buddy and I had our childhood competition in his backyard. We had our made up version of "Stick Ball"
with a broom handle and a tennis ball. We hung an old lounge chair on the spigot as our umpire.
Fun time.
