In our ongoing search for missing classmates, Cheryl Pope Bumgarner and myself found information on Darlene McGee Harden. Unfortunately, she died in 2014 in Florida of heart failure. There is a link to her death notice posted above. Rest in peace, Darlene.
Thank you Kay and Cheryl for the update. This is sad news. I remember Darlene clearly from days at Ebinport. She always had a friendly, big smile and that is my memory of her. I think she lived close to the school but not sure. I recall us on the grounds at school walking around. I think there was a store nearby because I have a memory of delicious,red cherry-flavored suckers we used to enjoy. She was a joy to be around. I do not recall interacting with her later, not sure what happened.Those are my memories of Darlene.
Becky, I also remember a little about Darlene being a classmate and her quite personality and sweet smile. I can visualize us on shorts day at Ebinport ,. My mother kept albums of school pictures .Thank you lady Bearcats for all of your digging and sharing people we love. Anne
I am so sorry to hear about Darlene's death. I was able to get to know Darlene during my senior year and she was such a nice person. When I have been in Rock Hill and passed by her home, I have wondered where she was.
