GREG PEELER

SHELBY-John Gregory "Greg" Peeler, age 69, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2017. Born in York, S.C., Greg was born on Sept. 5, 1947, and was the son of the late, William E. and Elizabeth L. Peeler. Greg worked for Daniel Construction Company and Fiber Industries for 10 years and retired from Kemet Electronics after a career of 26 years. He was dearly loved by everyone who knew him. His friends, family and strangers alike benefited from his extraordinary talents and skills, which due to his selfless and generous spirit were shared with all who needed them. In addition to his parents, Greg is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Samuel Peeler.; and siblings, Betty Kibbe, Vincent Peeler, and Mary Jane Potter.

Greg is survived by his wife 48 years, Carol Ann Poston Peeler; seven siblings, Billy Peeler, Jimmy Peeler, Suzy Norwood, Phil Peeler, Debbie Mitchell, Patty Davis, and Ginger Mayer; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Sunset Cemetery, with Pastor Christina Auch officiating. 

The family will receive friends following the service.

Greetings,

Just rambling through this late summer afternoon. . Greg was the center and middle linebacker on our 1965 Bearcat football team. A little late commenting about Greg I admit

Being the quarterback is was GREAT having Greg in front of me. But playing safety it was equally great having Greg, Ernie Wright and Harry Blue in front of me too. 

Greg was seleted for thw Shrine Bowl. Need I say more.
