Linda Louise Snyder (Ivey) VIEW PROFILE

November 15, 2020

Fellow classmates,

This is sad news to report. Below is date of death and other information about Linda Louise Snyder Ivey.

Thanks to Cheryl Bumgarner and her sister, Gail for researching and cross checking to bring us to the conclusion this is our fellow classmate. On the Graduation program, Linda is spelled Lynda as in the '63,'65 and '66 yearbooks, but in the '64 yearbook her name is spelled Linda. The Gilbert Snyder obituary is Linda's dad. There her name is spelled Linda. If you have additional details you can contact Cheryl or myself. Please post recollections of Linda to our In Memory section.

I really appreciate Cheryl searching for long lost classmates.  I had often wondered what happened to Linda Snyder after high school.  I was sad to learn that she passed away in Texas back in 2002.  She was a good friend at Northside Elementary.  If I remember correctly, she lived in the house at the corner of North Confederate and Pickens St. across from Confederate Park.  Some kids along there went to Northside and others went to Central.  Somehow I remember that she moved to Texas.  Sad news.

I remember Linda well from our days at Northside Elementary. She was such a friendly and kind classmate. We kind of lost a lot of contact in high school but we'd wave in the halls as we passed.
RIP, Linda.

Linda was an excellent and graceful dancer.  I remember her well from classes we took together at  Louise Van Tassell's.  She was always friendly and kind and had a great smile.

11/07/21 This was posted on Curtis Reid Ivey's memorial page on the internet. He was Linda's husband and he died in February of 2017.

"No one had Integrity any higher or better than Curtis Ivey! He was always there for his own kids as well as for the McFadden kids. Even after sweet Linda departed he took the wheel in his own way and reminded us all to stay on the straight and narrow. And always followed that up with a good/entertaining story that made you think of what happens when you get in the ditch:) He lived a full live with much experience and wisdom. His priorities were simple – Family! He had no time for people with wavering loyalty and integrity and he stuck to his guns of always doing the right thing! We are all better for having had Curtis Ivey in our lives! Rest in Peace!"
