IN MEMORY

Charles Soles

Charles Wayne Soles, captain of our varsity basketball team, loved by all who knew him, died from complications from a stroke in 2012 on January 14, 2014. Charles had many visitors while he was at White Oak facility. He was able to attend the induction of his basketball coach, Jimmy Mac Wallace, into the SC Sports Hall of Fame back in the summer. Charles will be greatly missed!

Gone from our sight, but not from our hearts.  Charlie will be missed by all who knew him. His sister wrote me the nicest letter after reading Charlie a card I had sent.  She shared with me his joy, expressing the feelings he had shown each and every time they read a card or letter to him from his RHHS friends.  He now rests in peace with no more suffering.

Really hate to hear of any classmate passing, even more so when it is a great one. Didn't run with the same crowd, but knew Charlie well. I, as most of you, can remember like it was yesterday some of the shooting displays he and Mickey Taylor could put on. I'm sure there is a hardwood floor where Charlie is at now.

Message from Ladd Fowler

Even though I have not seen Charlie for a long time I thought of him a lot. One of the finest people I have known and he was always someone who you knew would be a good friend. He will be missed but he is in the hands of our Lord and I look forward to seeing him again one day.

Rest in peace Charlie.

I never knew Charlie personally. I did send him a nice letter that made his day for at least one day. That made me happy as well. No worry, Your time has come to go and be with God as He has intended.      Ken Hinson

Darrell McDaniel writes: Sorry to hear of Charles Soles passing. I first met Charlie while I stayed with my grandmother in the city each summer.  He was a friend to all. Really nice guy. He's in a better place now waiting on his classmates to join him.
