Joe Means, Brenda's brother, recently joined the web site and informed us that Brenda passed away on May 26, 2010.

Brenda's brother, Joe, sent the following obituary:

Brenda Means Barker DOB: June 22, 1948 Brenda Means Barker went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 26, 2010. Predeceased by her parents Joseph Edwin Means, Sr. and Miriam Myers Means of Rock Hill, SC, she fought a valiant battle. Brenda leaves behind her husband Billy Barker, of Rock Hill, SC, brothers Joseph E. Means, Jr. (Cathy) of Irmo, SC, W. Michael Means, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Wayne E. Means of Orlando, Fl. Her three nephews, Trey, Blake & Britt Means were blessed by their special relationship as she was a “second Mom” and a very special person in their lives. Loving wife, devoted sister and friend, Brenda’s legacy of bringing laughter and love to all with whom she interacted will live on through all those she touched. Brenda graduated from Kings College, in Charlotte, NC, followed by a rewarding career. She worked with the Federal Government, Department of Defense, and various law firms. Following a liver transplant 15 years hence, she retired and invested herself in her family, friends and community. She enjoyed a full and rich life. The joy Brenda brought into this world will be sorely missed. Brenda has requested a private funeral service, however, it was her desire that memorials be made to: American Diabetic Association.
