What absolutely wonderful photographs some of you all have posted. Absolutely love the photos of Mama Horse & her we little color-changing foal. Great flower photos also so appropriate for this beautiful time of year (pollen withstanding). And, Kay, your photos from Easter of yester-year do indeed bring back memories.

Always sad to read about our classmates, some spouses & even children that are being taken from us seemingly way too early, but on this Easter Sunday rejoicing that death has finally been defeated and yearning for the day when evil will be forever vanquished and death's sting no longer felt. He is risen!

George, love your new picture! Precious grandson!  K

Is the Easter photo from St. John's?  That looks like Steve Wrenn on back row and Sammy on the front row.

Janice: Yes, it is St John's. The picture was submitted by Dee Ratterree some time ago and she could not identify everyone in the picture. Hopefully, some of our classmates can be of assistance.  Steve was identified. Are you in the picture Janice?

Submitted by Deanna Ratterree Nobles, St. John's Methodist Church (around 1952 or 1953)

"We were 4 or 5 years old Sunday School Class

In the picture:  Me, Rocky Evans, Suzanne Buddin, Sammy Russell, Charlie Busby, Miles Elkins, Dora Hailey, Steve Wrenn"  -   see if you can find these people. Let us know if you recognize any of the others.

Beckie Littlefield just checked in. She is 2nd from the right, front row!! Thanks, Beckie!

Hey, This was my church but not my class or some of us weren't there that day.  I do recognize the teacher; I believe that is Mrs. Edwards.  She had reddish hair and she and her husband always sat just a few rows in front of us during the 11:00 service.

Jimmy Winchester's photos are wonderful--beautiful wildlife, lovely flowers.  Thanks, Jimmy, for sharing your art.

Jimmy just added more pictures, many of old Rock Hill. They are great!  Enjoy!

Jimmy, I love the Rock Hill pictures. I recognize so many houses and buildings from way back when. My dad worked in the Winthrop building (Tillman) and, of course, we attended WTS (one of the most significant buildings in Rock Hill -so beautiful!) Janice's church at Christmas-time is lovely.  Thanks so much for sharing.

Sadly, I just found out that Paul Sprouse lost his son, Stephen, in February.  Please keep Paul and the family in your prayers.

Stephen Paul Sprouse

March 25, 1984 — February 9, 2022

Mr. Stephen Paul Sprouse, 37, of Bethune, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 9th, 2022, while at McLeod Health of Cheraw.

A private family graveside service will be held at 3:00 on Saturday afternoon, February 12th, 2022, from the Bethune Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Scott Bernshausen officiating.  The family will be speaking with friends following the service at the cemetery.

A native of Bethune, Mr. Sprouse was a son of Paul Sprouse & Beverly Farmer.  Stephen was a sports fan, especially of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Surviving are his parents: Beverly (Jimmy) Farmer of Bethune and Paul E. Sprouse of Pawley’s Island; sister, Ashley (Eli) Saleeby of Hartsville; half-brother, William W. Sprouse of Columbia; step-sister, Amanda (Chris) Kissiah of Hartsville and step-brother, Lucas Farmer of Hartsville; children, Meredith Ann Sprouse of McBee & Blake Sprouse of Bethune; also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Norton Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to be serving the Sprouse family.

That was some storm yesterday!  We had hail and torrential rain in the Arboretum area of Charlotte. Tell us your storm stories. Hope everyone is safe.

Kay,

We got a few pop corn size pieces of hail but mostly heavy rain in South Park. Our friends off Carmel Road had more hail and resulting debris, some outside plants destroyed.

 Becky

Beck: We had about 20-30 minutes of hail, pea-size, but I thought it would never stop. The rain was running in sheets off the roof and the gutters couldn't hold all the water. There was a "geyser" spewing up out of the ground where we have a french drain. Not too much debris in the yards. Thanks for the report. Glad all is well at your house.
