Joe's funeral will be Wednesday at 12:00 at Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 S. Anderson Rd. Rock Hill, with visitation at 11:00. The obituary may be on Greene's Funeral Home site by tomorrow afternoon and in the Herald Tuesday. Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers.

Here’s a photo from The Herald (Rock Hill, SC) from Nov. 24, 1961.  Our 8th grade football team had just completed an undefeated season and allowed only 6 points scored.  I showed it recently to a lady, Sharon Norton, associated with the Catawba Indian Nation.  There were at least 4 tribe members on the team (Harry Blue, Wayne George, Troy Canty, & Kirk Canty); maybe more. She wanted a copy for a Catawba event to be held in Lancaster in November.  Just as a note, you may recognize some, especially that tough kid on the bottom left (Me, sitting beside my cousin, Joel Ferrell) and the kid on the bottom right (Jim “Bimbo” Armour). Boy, that’s been a long time ago!!

Ernie, Jimmy bought that Lexus with loose change!  What I'm concerned about is Jimmy getting out once he is in that beautiful car.  Jimmy, looking forward to seeing you next month!

From Dennis: I saw Rosalyn last at Lynn's Uncle's furneral greeting at Greene's Funeral Home prior to the pandemic.  Lynn's Uncle was Joe Garrison, Kenny Garrison's Dad.  I hadn't seen her in many years.  We talked some about the old days back at RHHS.  She also told me about her family going to Washington, DC to visit Tyndall Estes.  Tyndall served as a page for Rep. Hemphill during the summer following 8th grade.  She was a sweet girl. You may remember that Rosalyn's Dad was the radio announcer for RHHS football games.

More about Tyndall.  On July 22, he and Janice along with his daughter & son's families went to Surfside Beach for a week's vacation.  Sadly, they had to take Tyndall to Tidelands Waccama Hospital that night.  He was running a fever of 103.7F and delirious.  For a few days, they were wondering if he had meningitis or encephalitis while he was in and out of consciousness.  Finally, it was determined that he had a bacterial brain infection. Fortunately, at the end of their vacation time, we were scheduled to be at Litchfield Beach and Janice was able to stay with us.  Just Yesterday (8/5), with the infection under control, he was able to be transported to the rehab facility near Piedmont Medical in Rock Hill.  Because of his ongoing back issues and this illness, he will be there to get treatment so he can stand & walk so he can eventually go home.  Please keep Janice & Tyndall in your prayers.
